Embrace
Dated: 14th August 2006
I've fallen in love... ahem.
Holly, my other half, doesn't know it yet and there'll be hell to pay when she finds out. The object of my affection however is no women; in fact you can't shag it at all. It is the album Out of Nothing by Embrace. This album has been around some time apparently, and the band even longer (since the early nineties im told). I only wish I'd discovered them earlier. Out of Nothing is quite breathtaking; a collection of modern classics; rock ballads with all the right feel-good undertones and rhythmic depth to help push Embrace up there with the likes of U2 and the Stone Roses. After listening to Out of Nothing at least 20 times over in the past week I don't imagine I'll be looking elsewhere for musical inspiration anytime soon. I have Simon Kitson to thank for this one after reading his recomendation.
On a side note Embrace also happen to come from my hometown of Huddersfield, which is unfortunate for them but gives me the right to act like a smug, arrogant prick towards you non-huddersfieldiens.

Glad you've found them Steve. Out of Nothing is indeed a stomper. I'm sure every track off that album has been used on TV at some point (Match of Day goal of the month competition was a regular).
I was actually in Huddersfield when they released their first album T'was either 1997 or 98 which is how I first got into them. The best thing to come out of West Yorkshire since...
...I'll let you finish that sentence.

Nice tip thanks Steve and Simon - They even have it on the French ITMS - that's where I listened to it. Didn't like all the tracks but I might buy a couple. Also went to your wife's blog (learnt that she was a Yank along the way) - she was playing Orson, which is cool too.

@Pascal: Well my wife's blog is myspace and she gives it more TLC than she does me. But you're right, Orson are pretty cool. Never really listened to em before, but I might give 'em a try.
@Elessar: Good lad ;)
